Taiko Project - Tonight at the Lied Center

Do you have your tickets yet? You won't want to miss this L.A. group that was featured in the iconic Mitsubishi commercial!
Taiko Project: Interlocking Rhythms, tonight at the from 7:30-10:30 at the Lied Center for Performing Arts. "The only American company to ever win Tokyo's prestigious International Taiko Contest, the dynamic, powerful ensemble unites ancient Japanese tradition with 21st century American innovation."

Our own group leader, Maureen, will be giving a pre-performance talk from 6:45-7:15 on location! Hope to see you there!

Japan Festival - Univ of NE, Kearney

Come check us out at "Cool Japan," the 2017 Japanese Festival put on by JAK (Japan Association of Kearney // students of University Nebraska, Kearney). Go to the Ponderosa Room on campus - doors open at 6:00pm. The students always do a great job with the festival! We look forward to seeing you there! Students and non-students welcome to the event.

Year of the Rooster - 2017

Come celebrate the Year of the Rooster with free food & cultural activities from 2 to 5pm. Kokyo Taiko performance scheduled for 3pm.
Performance will be at Auld Pavilion at Antelope Park, 1650 Memorial Drive in Lincoln.

Co-sponsored by the Omaha Sister Cities Association, experience Japanese culture through games, booths, food, music, & exhibitions.
Kokyo Taiko performance at 3:30pm on Sat & Sun.
Most activities are free with paid admission to the gardens.

Fri, Oct 7 at 6:30pm
Sponsored by the Japanese American Citizens League, Omaha Chapter.
The fundraising dinner is open to the public. Cost for a dinner is $35 ($17 tax-deductible). Kokyo Taiko and the UNO Friends of Japan club will be providing entertainment during the dinner.

Performance Sat, Sept 17

Looking for something fun to do Saturday, Sept 17? Come by Antelope Park (by the amphitheater stage) to the Harvest Moon Festival. Celebrate fall with food, activities, and performances from various Asian cultures. Kokyo Taiko traditional Japanese drum performance 和太鼓 will be at 6:30pm.

Join us on Sunday, August 28 at the Omaha Children's Museum, celebrating "Worldliest Days" from 1-3pm. In partnership with the Omaha Sister Cities Association, Kokyo will be playing at 2:20pm.

Two upcoming events!

1) UNL Samurai Dinner
Join Kokyo at 6:00 and 6:30pm on Wed, April 27 in the UNL Cather, Pound, Neihardt Dining Hall (540 N. 16th St.). The event runs from 4:30-8:30pm, and is $10.50 per adult for those without a meal plan at the dining hall.

2) Bellevue University Global Festival
Join us at 7:30 pm on Fri, May 6 on the main campus of Bellevue University, at the Margre H. Durham Student Center. Come see several performances from around the world, and sample different foods. The event starts at 6pm, and is open to the public. Admission is free!

Central Kansas Japanese Festival on Sunday, April 24

Join us at 2pm! The festival is open to the public with free admission. Come see other demonstrations such as martial arts, tea ceremony, and yosakoi dancing.

Japan Night at UNL

Join UNL's Global Friends of Japan for Japan Night on Friday, April 8 from 6-10pm at the UNL Union Ballroom. Tickets will be available starting Monday. Enjoy food, activities, and a performance by Kokyo Taiko!
Tickets are $15 for public or at the door. $10 in advance for UNL Students, with a discount for purchases of 9 or more tickets.
